HOUSTON, Texas | The Alabama State University volleyball team won their fourth consecutive Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) match to open the season with a 3-1 (22-25,25-15,25-19,25-19) victory over the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Ni'yesha Brown paced four Lady Hornets in double figure kills with 16 as she hit .256 in the victory, while
Bayle' Bennett finished with another double-double on the week as connected on 14 kills and 12 digs.

Briana Dorsey added 14 kills for Alabama State (11-7, 4-0 SWAC), while
Payten Clark finished with 10 kills and hit .450 for the Lady Hornets.

Kori Kutsch recorded a double-double with 39 assists and 12 digs, with
Kayla Torres adding 14 digs in the win.

Alabama State held UAPB (3-13, 2-1 SWAC) to just .131 hitting on the night.

The Lady Hornets end play in the SWAC Roundup Sunday morning, facing the host Texas Southern University at 10 am.
