HOUSTON, Texas | The Alabama State University volleyball team kept their winning streak alive as they extended it six with a 3-0 (25-19,25-22,25-18) victory over Prairie View A&M University on the second day of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Roundup, hosted by Texas Southern, Saturday morning.

Ni'yesha Brown and
Bayle' Bennett combined for 22 kills on the day for Alabama State (10-7, 3-0 SWAC) as the Lady Hornets captured their 24th straight victory in conference play, dating back to last season. Brown finished the morning session hitting .367 and added three digs, while Bennett finished hitting .308 and had four digs in the straight-set victory.

Justus Tuiolosega recorded a double-double against Prairie View A&M (1-6, 1-2 SWAC) with 13 assists and 12 digs, while
Kori Kutsch finished with 16 assists and seven digs.

Defensively,
Asha Daniels finished with nine digs for Alabama State, while
Payten Clark and
Candace Martin each finished with seven blocks each in the win.

The Lady Hornets return to play Saturday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7 pm, before closing out the Roundup against the host Texas Southern at 10 am Sunday morning.
