MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University women's soccer team will return home Friday to face Presbyterian College. Game time is 6 pm at the ASU Soccer Complex.
Alabama State (1-4) enters the match following as 5-0 loss on the road to Samford, their fourth consecutive road loss to start the season. They will be seeking their first victory since Southeastern Louisiana, a 3-2 victory on an overtime goal by
Inma Martinez.
Presbyterian (2-2) will also be looking to bounce back after a tough road loss to Citadel on Sunday afternoon.
The game features a pair of the top goalkeepers in their respective conferences. The Lady Hornets'
Gianna Guyot recorded 14 saves in 90 minutes of action in her last match against Samford, while Presbyterian's Alyssa Leaman was named the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for week two.
Offensively, the Blue Hose are led by Francis Whitesides and Jessica Powell. The pair have both recorded game-winning goals this season for Presbyterian. Meanwhile,
Ariela Lewis leads Alabama State with two goals and four points.
Inma Martinez and
Kayla Tillman each have contributed one goal a piece.
Presbyterian leads the all-time series 2-0, with the last meeting taking place in 2014.
