Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Alabama State dropped a 6-1 decision at Samford on Saturday at the Samford Tennis Center, finishing their weekend matches prior to the rain setting in over central Alabama.
Samford was able to jump ahead early in doubles as they took the point from Alabama State (0-3) by sweeping the matches. At number one doubles, the team of
Ion Efrim and
Alexis Collard came up short to the Samford team of Jake Faundez and Eduardo Lourido 6-4; while the Bulldogs were able to claim 6-2 victories at both number two and three.).
Andrej Trajkovski picked up the point for Alabama State in singles play at number six in straight sets as he defeated Max Rebol 6-3, 6-4 for the win.
Alabama State returns to action Wednesday at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center against Point University at 2 pm. Admission is free to all home tennis matches.
