MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University soccer team will be on the road for a pair of key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contests this weekend.
The Lady Hornets will travel to Texas to take on Prairie View A&M Friday, with the match scheduled to start at 7 pm. They will continue their road trip to Houston for a Sunday match against Texas Southern at 1 pm.
Alabama State (4-6, 4-0 SWAC) enters this weekend's competition after defeating Mississippi Valley on Friday 2-0 and Alcorn State on Sunday, 10-0. Six different players scored for the Lady Hornets in the win over the Lady Braves.
Alabama State and Alabama A&M currently lead the SWAC with identical 4-0 conference records.
Alabama State and PVAMU will meet for the first time since the Lady Hornets defeated Prairie View 2-0 a season ago. Alabama State has won the past four meetings against the Lady Panthers. The last time Alabama State and Texas Southern met, the Lady Hornets came up short 1-0 back on September 29 of last year.
Texas Southern is currently undefeated in the SWAC with a 3-0 record.
