PHILADELPHIA, Penn. | Alabama State senior offensive lineman
Tytus Howard earned his first All-America selection Tuesday, earning Second Team honors as a STATS FCS All-America.
Howard, who was invited to the Reese's Senior Bowl, earned the honor by playing in 10 of the 11 contests this season. Howard was matched up against some of the best in the country at defensive end, allowing just one sack and grading out at an average of 90-plus for the season; while playing both left and right tackle.
The senior earned First Team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) honors following the season.
He was one of four players from the SWAC selected as a STATS FCS All-America. Joining Booker Chambers from Mississippi Valley State on the second team special teams. De'Shawn Waller (running back) of Alcorn State and De'Arius Christmas (linebacker) from Grambling State were named to the Third Team.
