Box Score MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama State dropped a 4-2 non-conference decision to Jacksonville State at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center Saturday morning.
Alabama State (1-7) jumped out early on Jacksonville State by winning all three doubles matches. Alabama State's top team of
Ion Efrim and
Alexis Collard, and the number three team of
Tomas Fernandez and
Carl-Louis Luckmann each won their matches. All three doubles teams of Alabama won their matches 7-6.
Alejo Calvis and
Chris Andre won their match at number two.
In singles play, Jacksonville State was able to win four of the five matches that were completed, with Fernandez collecting the on Alabama State victory - 7-5, 6-0 - number three.
Alabama State returns to action tomorrow when they host rival Alabama A&M. The match is scheduled to tip at 2:00 pm at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center.
