Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. | Alabama State earned a 4-1 win over Prairie View A&M Saturday afternoon at the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Roundup on the men's side, hosted by Southern University at the SU Tennis Courts.
Alabama State (3-7) opened singles play at number three, where
Tomas Fernandez picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Anirudh Yadav. At number six,
Alejo Calvis earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Rodrigo Yoshikata, while top-seed
Ion Efrim defeated Ulrick Boyogueno, 6-2, 6-0.
Chris Andre secured the match for the Hornets with a 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 victory over Cesar Rayna at number five.
Alabama State returns to action next weekend when they host Kennesaw State on Saturday and Nicholls State on Saturday. Both matches will tip at 11 am at the Olean Black Underwood Tennis Center, where admission is free.
