NEW ORLEANS, La. | Alabama State begins defense of its 2017 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship Saturday afternoon in the conference tournament against Alcorn State.
The two were scheduled to meet Saturday afternoon at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center, however, the matches have been moved to the indoor courts at the Hilton Riverside Tennis Courts. The match will begin at 4 pm.
Alabama State, who finished undefeated in regular season play, had a first round bye; while Alcorn State – the fourth seed – defeated Alabama A&M, 4-1 on the opening day of the tournament. The Hornets defeated Alcorn State 4-2 earlier in the season
The championship match is set for 1:30 pm on Sunday at City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center in New Orleans. The winner of the match receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tennis Championships.
