TALLAHASSEE, Fla. | Alabama State got another strong outing on the mound in the Florida A&M series as
Dalton Wilder went six innings in a 9-4 victory over Florida A&M at Moore-Kittles Field Saturday afternoon.
Wilder (2-3) picked up the win after working 6.0 innings and allowing four runs, none of which were earned, off of five hits. He also walked four and struck out three in the win.
Ivanniel Vazquez came on to work the final three innings to pick up his second save of the season, allowing just one baserunner and striking out four.
Alabama State (24-19) pounded out 13 hits in the win, including four from
Gustavo Rios and three from
Hunter Phillips. Rios finished the day 4-for-5 with three runs batted in and a run scored, while Phillips went 3-for-5 with his seventh double of the season.
Joseph Estrada went 2-for-5 with three runs scored, including his ninth double of the season, while
Ray Hernandez finished 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
Jordan Curtis lead Florida A&M at the plate, as he went 2-for-4 with a run batted in, while the Rattlers used six different pitchers – including Ryan Anderson (3-5) who went just 3.2 innings in the start and allowed six runs off of eight hits.
The two teams meet in the final game of the series Sunday afternoon with first pitch scheduled for 1 pm (est) on the campus of Florida A&M. The game can be heard on the Hornet Sports Network.
