MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University women's soccer team will hit the road Friday to face Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. Kick off is at 7 pm.
Alabama State (0-3-0) enters the match following a 1-0 loss in its home opener against Samford. The Lady Hornets will be seeking their first victory since Grambling State in 2017, a 1-0 victory on an overtime goal by
Shelby Unruh.
Presbyterian (1-1-0) will be looking to keep its winning streak alive after defeating The Citadel 4-2 last Sunday afternoon.
The game features a pair of consistent goalkeepers who have proven adept at defending their net thus far. The Lady Hornets'
Gianna Guyot recorded 12 saves in 90 minutes of action in her last match against Samford, while Presbyterian's Megan Serrano recorded six saves against both The Citadel and Furman.
Offensively, the Blue Hose are led by Kelsey Yeager, who has recorded two goals. Meanwhile,
Birgit Rijnders and
Teaggan Ilela lead Alabama State with two goals and four points, combined.
Presbyterian leads the all-time series 2-1, with the Lady Hornets winning the last meeting 6-1 at home.
