Montgomery, Ala.| Alabama State fell in three sets to Troy Tuesday night at Lockhart Gymnasium, 20-25, 9-25, 20-25.
The Lady Hornets (3-13) held leads in the first (4-3) and third (9-3) sets before succumbing to the Trojans (6-7), who outhit Alabama State .247 to .000. The 20 points in a set were the most since Northern Colorado (September 8th).
Krysta Medearis led the Lady Hornets with seven kills, three digs and three blocks.
Candace Martin posted a season high six blocks, while setter
Kori Kutsch recorded 10 assists, seven digs and one kill.
Kayla Torres paced all Lady Hornets with eight digs.
Alabama State opens conference play this weekend with the SWAC Roundup in Baton Rouge, La. The Lady Hornets start the tournament with a match Friday against Prairie View A&M at 3:00 pm.
