Alcorn State added another goal late when Anouchka Berthelot scored in the 79th minute for the final margin.
Alabama State returns to action Sunday afternoon on the road against Mississippi Valley State.
Quotable from head coach Jodie Smith
"I am pleased to the get win in really cool and windy conditions. We came out and set the tone early and played a good first 45 minutes. We had some careless errors with the ball, and that allowed Alcorn State to get back into the game. In the end we were able to see the game out, and now our focus shifts to Valley."
