AUBURN, Ala. | Alabama State's
Alexis Collard moved into the Round of 32 at the ITA Southern Regionals with a first-round victory at the Yarbrough Tennis Center on the campus of Auburn University.
Collard picked up win due to a walkover (injury) against Benji Jacobbson of Tulane. He fell in the second round to Simon Junk of Ole Miss (6-0, 7-5) – a first round winner over Rossouw Norval of Samford (6-0, 6-2).
Meanwhile,
Andrej Trajkovski fell to Nick Watson of LSU (6-2, 6-0) in the opening round, while
Chris Andre fell to Ajaz Kaplja of LSU (6-4, 6-1).
Juan Rodriguez fell to Michael Lusovsky of UAB (6-3, 7-5), while teammate
Alejo Calvis fell to Louis Delcour of South Alabama in three sets (2-6, 6-3, 6-4).
Luka Markovic fell to Nicholas Ocana of Mississippi State (6-4, 6-1) to round out Thursday play at the ITA Southern Regionals.
Play continues through Tuesday in Auburn, and admission is free to the tournament.
