MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State announced its 2020 football schedule which features five home games and six games inside the state of Alabama.
The Hornets open the 2020 campaign in the annual Labor Day Classic against Tuskegee September 5, before hitting the road for their lone contest against an FBS-member school. Alabama State travels to Lubbock (Texas) to face Texas Tech of the Big 12 on September 12.
They will stay on the road September 19, facing perennial FCS power Kennesaw State prior to opening Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) play at home against Mississippi Valley State September 26 on Connection Day.
Following a conference road game against UAPB on October 3, the Hornets will play for the sixth consecutive weekend but at home against Southern – renewing rivalries in back-to-back weekends. The Hornets and Southern will meet October 10 at ASU Stadium in the annual Think Pink Game on the Montgomery campus.
The Hornets play their seventh consecutive weekend before a week off, traveling to Grambling State October 17. They return play October 31 in Birmingham at historic Legion Field against Alabama A&M in the Magic City Classic. The game is a string of three consecutive games against SWAC East Division opponents.
Alabama State travels to Alcorn State November 7 and hosts Jackson State November 14 for Military Appreciation Day before a week off. They close out the 2020 regular season against Texas Southern in the Turkey Day Classic.
