PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas | On the eve of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament, the conference announced the All-SWAC teams with a pair of Alabama State student-athletes landing on those teams.

Freshman midfielder Isabella Beortegui earned First Team honors for Alabama State after leading the team in goals with six and points with 12. She is also among the league leaders in both categories heading into the opening round of conference play.

Meanwhile, Montgomery-native Mary Martin Mooneyham earned Second Team honors as a defender. The sophomore is third on the team in scoring with four goals and eight points, including a pair game-winning goals in the same week against Alcorn State and Mississippi Valley State.

Both players earned SWAC Offensive Player of the Week honors this season for their performances.

Alabama State opens tournament play Thursday night against second seed, and host, Prairie View A&M. The match is scheduled to start at 5:30 pm.
