BOISE, Idaho | Alabama State concludes their three-game road swing in the Midwest against Boise State Saturday afternoon at the ExtraMile Arena.
Tip is set for 4:00 pm (MT) and can be seen on the Mountain West Network and can be heard on the Hornet Sports Network beginning with the pregame at 3:45 pm (MT). It is the second consecutive season the two teams will meet in Boise, with the Broncos winning last season's matchup.
Alabama State (1-8) looks to get back on track after an 86-41 loss to a hot-shooting Kansas State squad on Wednesday night. In the contest, Kansas State shot nearly 70 percent from the floor, and held Alabama State without a player in double figures.
Tobi Ewuosho continues to lead Alabama State in scoring at 13.2 points per game, while he is also grabbing a team-high 6.6 rebounds per game.
Jacoby Ross is averaging 6.4 points per game, while
Brandon Battle is averaging 6.0 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Boise State (5-4) enters the game following a 69-56 loss to Tulsa in which they shot just 20.7 (6-for-29) percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos had made 40 three-pointers in its previous four games, shooting at a 39.6 percent clip from beyond the arc. In that contest, RJ Williams led the team with 19 points and 10 rebounds, his third double-double of the year.
The Broncos have three players averaging double figures this season heading into the contest, led by Derrick Alston, Jr. at 20.1 points per game. He is shooting 35.0 (21-of-60) percent from beyond the arc, averaging 6.7 three-pointers attempted per game.
He is joined in double figures by Justinian Jessup at 15.9 points and Williams at 13.8 points per game, while Alex Hobbs is just shy of double figures at 9.7 points per game.

Kansas State missed just eight shots in the first half and pulled away early from Alabama State as the Hornets fell 86-41 at Bramlage Coliseum Wednesday night. Alabama State had no answer for Kansas State in the first half as the Wildcats shot 71.4 (20-of-28) percent from the floor and 66.7 (10-of-15) percent from beyond the arc. However, the Hornets were able to answer in the second half as they were outscored by just nine (34-25) and held Kansas State to just 28.6 (2-of-7) percent from beyond the arc.
Ewuosho and
Kevin Holston each scored nine points to lead Alabama State, with Ewuosho added nine rebounds and Holston four assists in the loss. The Hornets finished the night shooting 27.3 (15-of-56) percent from the floor and 28.6 (6-of-21) percent from beyond the arc, while also shooting 50.0 (5-of-10) percent from the free throw line.

Despite a game-high 17 points from
Jacoby Ross, Alabama State fell 67-57 on the road to Boise State at Taco Bell Arena last season.
Fausto Pichardo finished with 11 points for Alabama State, who finished the night shooting 37.3 (22-of-59) percent from the floor and 36 (9-of-25) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 44.4 (4-of-9) percent from the free throw line, while forcing 13 Boise State turnovers.
Jessup led four players in double figures for the Broncos with 16, while Alex Hobbs added 15 and Williams 12 points and nine rebounds. Zach Haney added 11 points for Boise State, who finished the night shooting 44.9 (22-of-49) percent from the floor and 34.8 (8-of-23) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 75 (15-of-20) percent from the free throw line.
Alabama State (2-5), playing for the first time in two weeks and without leading scorer
Reginald Gee, led Boise State by five at the half. The Hornets and Boise State (4-5) traded the lead several times in the first half until the Hornets were able to take a three-point lead down the stretch. After Boise State trimmed the lead to a pair,
Gene Davis drained a 30-footer as the buzzer sounded to give Alabama State a 30-25 lead at the intermission.
After Alabama State scored the opening basket of the second half, Boise State went on a 17-0 run over the next five-plus minutes to take a 42-32 lead with 13:59 to play in the contest. The Hornets ended their scoring drought with a free throw from Ross with 13:06 to play – ending a seven-minute stretch without a basket for Alabama State.
