MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to the floor after a week off, looking to complete the season sweep of Alabama A&M as they host the Bulldogs at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome Saturday night.
The game is scheduled to tip at 5 pm and the Hornets are encouraging all fans to wear black to the contest. The game can be seen on the Hornet Sports Network beginning with pregame at 4:45 pm.
Inside the Alabama State Hornets
- Alabama State (9-13, 7-4 SWAC) currently sits third in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) with seven games remaining in the conference play. They are currently tied with Grambling State, one game back of Texas Southern and three back of Prairie View A&M.
- Reginald Gee leads the Hornets at just over 14 points per game, and is sitting at 1,035 career points after his 10 points against Mississippi Valley State.
- Jacoby Ross, who is closing in on 700 career points, led five Alabama State players in double figures with 17 against Mississippi Valley State.
- The Hornets look for their second series sweep of the season, having swept Mississippi Valley State with their last victory.
Inside the Alabama A&M Bulldogs
- Alabama A&M has lost three out of their last four games, including dropping their last contest to UAPB at home.
- The Bulldogs last win came against Mississippi Valley State on February 9, and the Bulldogs are 3-7 in their last games.
- Andre Kennedy is the lone player in double figures this season for Alabama A&M, averaging 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Inside the Series
- Alabama State leads the all-time series over Alabama A&M, 82-30, including the last six games in the series. The Hornets have also won seven of the last nine in the series.
- These two teams met in Birmingham earlier this season at Bill Harris Arena, with Alabama State pulling away with a 72-54 victory. Reginald Gee connected on 7-of-13 from the floor and was perfect from the free throw line (3-3). He also collected seven rebounds and dished out a pair of assists. Jacoby Ross  finished with 11 points, five rebounds, a pair of assists and steals; while Tobi Ewuosho came off the bench with 10 points and five rebounds.
- The Hornets finished the night shooting 48.3 (29-of-60) percent from the floor and 19 (4-of-21) percent from beyond the arc, with a pair of those coming from Gee. The Hornets also shot 66.7 (10-of-15) percent from the free throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 38-27 and forcing 20 Alabama A&M turnovers.
Theme of the Night
- Alabama State will host Black Out the Bulldogs Night inside the Dunn-Oliver Acadome with doors opening at 1 pm for the women's contest (two hours prior to the game).
- The Hornets will also honor out AD's Academic Honor Roll on the night, those students earning a 3.0 or higher for the fall semester.
