MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home after a road trip to Texas, beginning a three-game home stand Saturday evening against UAPB at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action.
Alabama State (8-12, 6-3 SWAC) finds itself near the top of the conference race at the midway point of the season, with the top four seeds all earning a chance to host their first round conference tournament game at the end of the regular season. The Hornets are currently tied with Texas Southern and Jackson State, sitting two games back of Prairie View A&M and one game ahead of Grambling State for fifth in the SWAC.
Meanwhile, UAPB (7-15, 4-5 SWAC) is two games back of the grouping in second place, having lost five of their last six games in conference play. Alabama State looks to avoid the season sweep at the hands of the Golden Lions, as UAPB was able to pull away late for an 11-point victory earlier this season in Arkansas.
The game tips at 5 pm, and can be seen on the Hornet Sports Network beginning immediately after the women's game or 15 minutes prior to tip. Tickets are still available and can be purchased for $10 general admission and $15 for reserved seating.
