MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics recently celebrated their sixth consecutive Commissioner's Cup and 10 conference championships this past year.
Over the past six years, Alabama State has claimed 50 conference championships and over that time student-athletes have been awarded championship rings for their success.
The athletic department recently announced the beginning of a ring campaign. All money raised for the campaign will benefit those student-athletes who have played on championship teams and will play on championship teams for years to come.
"When you hear about teams being successful over a long period of time, that's no accident," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Jennifer Lynne Williams said. "Our student- athletes and coaches work very hard to compete at a high level and to make ASU Athletics the golden standard of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
"The victories that we celebrate today are a direct reflection of the support that the Hornet Nation provides. As we launch this campaign to award our champions for their efforts, we know that you will be there supporting and cheering them on every step of the way as we "Put a ring on it!""
