MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns home after a pair of games on the road over the weekend, hosting North Alabama Friday night on Youth Night at the ASU Soccer Complex.
Kick is set for 6 pm, and kids will have a chance to interact with Stinger during the event. There will also be inflatables and Frios available at the non-conference matchup. Admission is free to all home Alabama State soccer matches.
Following the match with North Alabama, the Hornets hit the road to Mercer for a Sunday afternoon matchup to conclude their matches this week.
Alabama State (1-6) enters the contest off the heels of a 3-1 loss to Charleston Southern on the road. In that match,
Isabella Beortegui scored the lone goal in the 14th minute for the Hornets, her fourth of the season.
Team Leaders
Beortegui leads Alabama State with four goals, while five other players have each scored one goal each through the first seven matches.
Meaghan Fielding,
Kayla Tillman,
Fabienne Balvers,
Janae Brown and
Ashley Thomas have each added a goal.
McKenna Wiscombe leads the team with three assists, while Fielding has added a pair of assists giving her four points on the year.
Scouting the Opponents
North Alabama (2-5) comes into the match having dropped their last three contests against Abilene Christian, Tennessee Tech and Alabama. Shelby Wall leads the Lions in goals with seven on the year through seven matches.
Meanwhile, Mercer (6-1) enters Sunday's match having won five straight. The Bears are led by Nicole Icen with four goals on the season.
