BIRMINGHAM, Ala.| Alabama State freshman midfielder Isabella Beortegui was one of three individuals awarded Player of the Week honors, announced by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) office Tuesday afternoon.
 
Beortegui recorded her team-leading fifth goal of the season in a 4-3 loss on the road to Mercer Sunday afternoon. She now has a team-leading 10 points on the season for Alabama State.
 
Alabama State opens conference play this week on the road at Grambling State (Friday night) and UAPB (Sunday afternoon).
