MONTGOMERY, Ala. | With the beginning of basketball season this weekend, the Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics released "Know Before You Go" to prepare fans and alumni for changes occurring at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome in 2021.
Alabama State will host a trio of games over the next three days, beginning with the men's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon against Grambling State with tip set for 4:30 pm. There will also be two games on Monday night beginning at 5 pm with the Lady Hornets hosting Jackson State, followed by the men at 8 pm that can be seen on ESPNU. The Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will enforce the mask mandate on the campus during each event to ensure the safety of its student-athletes, coaches, staff, and the entire Alabama State community.
All dates and times to events are subject to change during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entry to the Acadome
By entering the Dunn-Oliver Acadome, I understand that my entrance involves inherent risks with the COVID-19 pandemic. By entering the facility, I voluntarily assume all risks of loss, damage, illness or injury, which I may sustain.
I will make no claim against and release, waive, discharge hold harmless and indemnify, on behalf of myself, my personal representative and my heirs, Alabama State University and its officers, agents and employees for any and all claims and causes of action for any injury or loss, or for damages, costs, expenses, or compensation that may occur during or result from my entrance, whether arising through the negligence, omission, default, or other action of any person or event associated with this event.
Tickets
Only those fans who purchased season tickets will be allowed entry during the 2020-21 season, along with those on the visiting team pass list. Single game tickets will not be on sale at any point during the season. For those purchasing tickets, there will be an optional add-on ticket to your season ticket for children 9-17 for a cost of $40 Reserve or $20 General Admission. Children 8 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult.
The Dunn-Oliver Acadome will operate at a limited capacity for the season, which will include season ticket holders and student tickets when they become available.

The first four rows behind the team will not be accessible for anyone in the general public or media.
COVID-19 Self-Screening Checklist
All attendees to athletic events at Alabama State will be asked to review the screening checklist before arrival to campus:
- Have you received a positive COVID-19 test in the past 14 days?
- Do you have a fever greater than 100.4 F?
- Do you have new muscle aches not related to another medical condition or another specific activity?
- Do you have a new or worsening cough that is not related to another medical condition?
- Do you have a sore throat, runny nose and/or congestion not related to another medical condition?
- Do you have, or are you suffering from, shortness of breath that is not related to another medical condition?
- Do you have a recent loss of smell or taste?
- Do feel nauseous or have a new onset of vomiting and/or diarrhea not related to another medical condition?
- Have you had recent close contact in the last 14 days with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19?
If you answered yes to any of the questions above, immediately self-isolate and contact your medical provider. Please do not attend any campus facility, program, activity, or event.
Seating / Distance and Family
All seats will be socially distanced in the arena. A family will be allowed to sit together in groups of four only. We ask that you please refrain from moving around the arena floor.
There will be no courtside seating during the 2020-21 season.
Clear Bag Policy
The clear bag policy will be in place at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome at all times.
Traffic flow
All traffic will enter the Alabama State University campus through the South Jackson Street entrance. In order to move through the entrance, you must have proof of identification (season ticket will suffice). Once on campus, you will follow the traffic left and into the Dunn-Oliver Acadome parking lot – there will be no parking at the loading dock/back entrance to the arena.
After the contest is over, traffic must leave campus on West University Drive toward the Student Center, and then follow the traffic on to South Jackson Street. At no time will traffic enter or exit off of Harris Way.
For the buses carrying the teams to the competition, please provide an itinerary so that officers will be available to allow you to enter through your normal gate on Harris Way – on the bus carrying the team will be allowed through. Any additional vehicles must adhere to the South Jackson Street protocol.
Mask-Mandatory
Alabama State University is a mask-mandatory campus. In order to enter the Dunn-Oliver Acadome and remain in the arena, a mask must be worn at all times and social distancing will be enforced.
Entrances to the Dunn-Oliver Acadome
All patrons must enter through the main doors of the Dunn-Oliver Acadome by utilizing the front steps or ADA ramps on either side of the front entrance. ADA seating is located in Section 3 (Area B) and Section 10 (Area B).
When entering the arena, all patrons must remain six feet apart (social distance), masked up, and will have the ticket scanned and temperature checked.
At no time will anyone be allowed entry to the playing floor.
THE backdoor entrance is for teams, officials and game workers
ONLY.
Cheer / Band / Student Seating
This year cheer and band will have designated sections they will be located in, as will the students with COVID-19 protocols. The band will be located in Sections 6 and 7, while cheer will be located in Section 8.
All students will be located in Sections 1, 2, 3, 11 and 12.
For safety reasons, we are asking that once you are seated that you remain in your seats unless going to the restroom or concessions.
Backdoor / Parking
The backdoor will be for teams, working staff and officials only this season; no ticket holders will be allowed entry into the backdoor or the parking lot. All team members, officials and workers will have their temperature checked and scanned via the Dragon Fly screening device before entry will be given into the arena.
Visiting Team
Visiting teams will be required to submit an itinerary before each contest to the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics with anticipated arrival times. The teams will arrive at the Acadome by using the entrance off of Harris Way and parking in the East lower lot.
Upon entry into the arena, the visiting team entourage will have their temperatures taken, and scanned via the Dragon Fly screening device. Once inside the arena, teams will go directly to their locker room.
At no time will a team be allowed to hang out on the arena floor or go into the stands. Once their respective game is over that team will remain in the locker room or tunnel until it is time to load the bus. I would emphasize that visiting teams will not be able to watch the games from the stands.
Concessions
All concessions will be prepackaged and cashless, with concession #3 open.
Arena Floor
The arena floor is off limits to everyone except those playing, coaching or working the contest. Only those who have been tested within 72 hours or been through a team testing protocol will be allowed to enter the playing floor.
Masks must be worn at all times.
Media / Media Entrance
All media, with the exception of the visiting team SID and radio (only two persons), will be seated in section 5 above the arena floor. No credentials will be mailed out, as each media member will have their temperature checked before receiving a credential at the entrance to the arena. There will be no face-to-face interviews following the contest, we will do Zoom interviews
ONLY.
All media must enter through the South Lot doors, parking in that lot and walk up the ramp for entrance into the Dunn-Oliver Acadome. Media will be able to work from the Hornet Lounge in West 330, right inside the entrance door.
Only one photographer will be allowed at each contest unless authorized by the Alabama State Athletic Strategic Communications Office.
