MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action Saturday against Alabama A&M in Huntsville, with the matches are scheduled to start at 1 pm.
The teams will stay on the road against North Alabama Sunday morning, with the matches scheduled for 11 am.
The Alabama State (3-4, 2-0 SWAC) women return to action for the first time since a 5-2 loss to Jacksonville State on the road at the end of February. The Lady Hornets picked up a pair of wins, both by
Bea Acena in the loss – in both singles and doubles, while also returning to action for the first time in conference play since a 4-3 win over Jackson State back on February 22.
The Lady Hornets have won 33 consecutive matches – including tournament play – against SWAC schools and have won 40 consecutive regular conference matches. The last regular season loss for Alabama State came back on March 28, 2015 against Jackson State.
Meanwhile, the Alabama State (2-5, 1-0 SWAC) men return to action for the first time since a 7-0 loss to Jacksonville State on the road February 28. They also return to conference action for the first time since defeating Jackson State (4-0) back on February 22.
The Hornets have won 26 consecutive conference matches – including tournament matches – against conference schools. Their last regular season loss came back on February 26, 2016 against Jackson State.
