MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State returns to action for the second time in three days, hosting Jackson State at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome Monday night.
The game tips at 8:00 pm and will be carried nationally by ESPNU.
The two teams met twice last season, with Jackson State winning both contests, including the lone meeting at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome 71-59. Alabama State has won seven of the previous ten meetings inside the Acadome, and the two teams are even in the last six – winning three games each.

Alabama State dropped their season opener to Grambling State 66-49 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome despite a pair of near double-doubles.
Kenny Strawbridge finished with nine points and eight rebounds in his Hornet debut, while
Brandon Battle finished with six points and ten rebounds in the loss.
DJ Heath added nine points and three assists (not to mention a career-high four steals), while
E.J. Clark added eight points.
Jordan O'Neal finished the night with seven rebounds and four blocked shots in his debut.
LAST TIME OUT – (Jackson State, 0-5, 0-0 SWAC)
Jackson State fell to Iowa State in their last contest back on December 20, 60-45, despite opening the game on a 7-0 run to grab an early lead. Jayveous McKinnis finished with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Ken Evans added seven points and six rebounds.
GAME NOTES
The Hornets' newcomers scored 29 points in the season opener, led by Strawbridge with a career-high nine points on just 4-of-14 shooting, while EJ Clark added eight – both getting the start in their first game. Battle and Heath, both seniors, combined for 15 points and 14 rebounds in the loss against Grambling State.
Alabama State looks to pick up their first win of the season against Jackson State Monday night and avoid their second consecutive 0-2 start in conference play.
Monday night's game will be the only time that the Hornets appear on the ESPN family of networks, with the game carried nationally by ESPNU.
There are a pair of ties with Jackson (Miss.) and Jackson State, with the city serving as the hometown of head coach
Mo Williams and assistant coach
Trey Johnson. The latter finished his career in the 1,000-point club at Jackson State and finished 10th in the nation in scoring as a junior and led the team to the NCAA Tournament as a senior.
Alabama State has logged 20-plus wins 13 times throughout their history, including picking up 30 wins during the 1979-80 season.
