MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State hits the road this weekend for the final road game of the season, facing Mississippi Valley State in Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) action.

The game is scheduled to kick at 1 pm and can be heard on the Hornet Sports Network.

Alabama State (3-5, 2-4 SWAC) is looking for their first road win of the season after dropping a 24-20 decision to Prairie View A&M last weekend. The Hornets have faced four of five teams on the road who have either been ranked or receiving votes. After struggling through the first three road games, the Hornets have combined to score 48 points in the last two games.

• Alabama State has won 11 consecutive games against Mississippi Valley State in the series dating back to 2010. The Hornets last shutout came on the road against the Delta Devils in 2019, 27-0.
• The Hornets lost five straight games to Mississippi Valley State from 1983-1987.
• Alabama State returns home for their final two games of the season beginning November 20 against Texas Southern and then on Turkey Day against Tuskegee following this weekend's contest.
• Senior running back Ezra Gray (Lynn Haven, Fla.) broke the 2,000-yard barrier for his career two weeks ago against Alabama A&M, the same team he went over 1,000 yards against in 2019.
