MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State fell behind early at home on Sunday before dropping the final game of a three-game home stand to North Alabama, 81-69 at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome.

North Alabama (3-3) scored the first basket of the game and never trailed, opening a 17-point lead late in the first half thanks in large part to shooting over 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Hornets would cut the lead to as little as eight in the first half on a 9-0 run, and then again in the second half before North Alabama was able to pull away.

Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) led Alabama State (1-6) with 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor, adding six rebounds in the loss. Gerald Liddell (Cibolo, Texas) added 15 points and six rebounds while Jordan O'Neal (Mobile, Ala.) added nine points and eight rebounds for the Hornets who finished the night shooting 41.7 (25-of-60) percent from the floor and just one three-pointer (in eight tries).

North Alabama was led by Dallas Howell with 15 (all three pointers), while Daniel Ortiz added 15 and Payton Youngblood 14. The Lions finished the night shooting 44.4 (28-of-63) percent from the floor and 50 (15-of-28) percent from beyond the arc.
