MONTGOMERY, Ala. | A week after winter weather wreaked havoc along the southern portion of the country, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's and Women's Tennis Pod One gets underway Friday in Baton Rouge.

The Alabama State (0-4) are looking for their first win of the season and will open defense of the conference championship they have won the previous three years. The Lady Hornets hit the court Friday afternoon at 1 pm against Alabama A&M, before facing Prairie View A&M on Saturday, and Mississippi Valley State on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Alabama State (2-3) will face the same three teams as they open defense of their conference championship, they have won the last seasons.
