MONTGOMERY, Ala. |Â Three Alabama State pitchers combined for a no-hitter on Saturday afternoon as the Hornets blanked Mississippi Valley State 14-0 in seven innings at the Wheeler-Watkins Complex for their second win of the series.

Alabama State put the game away early as they scored eight runs in the second inning, followed with four in the third, and a single run in both the fourth and sixth frames for the final score.

Trenton Jamison had yet another big game offensively, accounting for three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored on the day, whileÂ
Cristopher DeGuzman (2 hits / 2 runs / 2 RBIs) and
AJ Gardner (2 hits / 3 runs / 2 RBIs) both each continued their hot weekend.

Breon Pooler (1-2) picked up the win working 5.0 innings and struck out 12 of the 16 batters faced.Â
Ryan Velazquez and
Payton Harris both pitched an inning and added three strikeouts each for a combined 18 strikeouts on the day for the Hornets.

Alabama State returns to action on Sunday for the series finale before a midweek matchup on March 24  against Troy with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

Due to COVID-19 protocols only those listed on the player pass list will be admitted into the venue due to socially distant seating. Alabama State is a mask mandatory campus, as are each of the athletic venues.
