MONTGOMERY, Ala. |Â Alabama State dropped a 3-0 contest to conference opponent Texas Southern in the final game of the weekend series, as the Lady Tigers shut out the Lady Hornets on Saturday afternoon.

Texas Southern scored a run in the second, fourth and six innings respectively, while Alabama State left nine runners on base in the loss.

The Lady Hornets were held to four hits on the afternoon with
Arianna Atchley being responsible for two while
Kindall DeRamus and
Madison Myers each picked up singles.
Skyler Sullivan (5-6) suffered the loss, pitching all seven innings and allowed three runs off 13 hits.

Naomi Reyes (2-6) picked up the win for the Lady Tigers, also pitching a complete game and allowed just four hits.

Alabama State returns to action March 23 for a midweek doubleheader on the road against Samford beginning at 4 pm. It will be the first of a five game road stretch for Alabama State over the next week.
