FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. | Alabama State senior running back Ezra Gray was named the BOXTOROW National Player of the Week after his performance against Jackson State on Saturday.

Gray carried the ball 23 times for a career-high 193 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of touchdown runs of 49 and 50 yards in the fourth quarter. He also caught a pair of passes for 14 yards and returned four kicks for 92 yards in the 35-28 victory over Jackson State.

After Jackson State tied the score at 28 late in the fourth quarter, Gray returned the ensuing kickoff 29 and on the next play broke the line for a 50-yard game-winning touchdown with 1:29 remaining. He ended the game with 299 all-purpose yards in the win.
