- Alabama State is in search of its first win of the season after falling to Winthrop 3-2 on Friday night in overtime, battling back from a two-goal deficit in the second half.
- Isabella Beortegui (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Camila Jimenez (Weston, Fla.) each scored a goal in the loss, with the goal from Jimenez being her first career goal.
- Madison Chambers (Hobart, Tasmania, Australia) and Zelia Griffith (Livonia, Mich.) each recorded their first career assist in the loss.
- Alabama State started the same lineup against Winthrop that was used against Troy in the exhibition match that included four newcomers MF Katherine Nedved (Chandler, Ariz.), MF Jimenez, D Madison Tyler (Maricopa, Ariz.), GK Sheila Sanchez (Castellon, Spain).
- The Lady Hornets also started F Kassandra Schoen (St. Michael's Minn.), F McKenna Wiscombe (Orem, Utah), F Beortegui, MF Grace Norbury (Melbourne, Australia), D Kristen Thomas (Watkinsville, Ga.), D Kayleigh O'Neal (San Diego, Calif.), and D Paige Patton (Kent. Wash.).
