- Alabama State looks to pick up their first win of the season, hitting the road to face South Carolina State in the eighth meeting between the two teams in school history.
- South Carolina State leads the series 5-2, however, Alabama State has won the last two meetings, including the last in Orangeburg.
- Alabama State ended a streak of being shut out against Stetson when McKenna Wiscombe (Orem, Utah) scored on a penalty kick 61 minutes into the match.
- The trip for Alabama State will be the lone trip to the state of South Carolina this season.
- Goalkeeper Sheila Sanchez (Castellon, Spain) was named the SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week after her performances on the road, coming up with 13 saves in a pair of games last week. She followed that up with 12 saves against Stetson on the road on Sunday.
