Alabama State student-athletes finish Fall semester with a 3.20 cumulative GPA

MONTGOMERY, Ala. | With the beginning of the spring semester right around the corner, the Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced a department-wide 3.20 grade point average from the fall semester.

The department, which features 18 intercollegiate sports and cheer, had 12 teams finish with a 3.00 grade point average or higher. They also had each team finish the semester with a 2.70 grade point average higher, including cheer who finished with 2.804 GPA.

Men's golf led the way for the department with a 3.956 grade point average, while women's tennis finished with a 3.876 and women's soccer at 3.625. Nine other sports finished with a 3.00 grade point average including women's golf (3.585), softball (3.338), women's basketball (3.252), men's cross country (3.241), bowling (3.229), baseball (3.18), volleyball (3.14), women's cross country (3.031), and women's track and field (3.00).

Four other programs finished with a 2.70 grade point average or high for the department including men's track and field (2.943), men's basketball (2.76), men's tennis (2.749), and football (2.702).
