A Special Thank You from @BamaStateSports

MONTGOMERY, Ala.-- Alabama State University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics say Thank You to Hornet Nation for the record-setting crowd of 31,334 for Homecoming last Saturday.

"Bama State Athletics would like to thank all of our students, alumni, and fans for packing ASU Stadium for Homecoming," Alabama State Athletic Director Dr. Jason Cable said. "The record crowd not only created a great atmosphere for the game but proved how much our fan base loves ASU."

The final numbers show a $4,216,995 economic impact on the City of Montgomery after Homecoming weekend.

The Hornets are celebrating ASU Stadium's 10th anniversary in 2022. Alabama State looks to snap a two-game home skid streak following a 26-12 setback to Jackson State University last week. The Hornets are 29-18 since ASU Stadium opened in 2012.

The 31,334 attendance eclipsed the previous record crowd of 27,828 set against Tuskegee in 2019. The Hornets rank seventh in FCS home attendance, averaging17,475 per home game. Five SWAC schools rank in the top 20. Jackson State (6th/31,358 avg.), Florida A&M (11th/12,388 avg.), Southern (15th/15,528) and Alabama A&M (16th/10,350 avg.).
