Hornets Basketball Projected to Finish 10th in SWAC Preseason Poll

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southwestern Athletic Conference revealed its 2022 SWAC men's basketball Predicted Order of Finish with Alabama State projected to finish tenth. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

Texas Southern topped the list with 14 first-place votes followed by Alcorn State tabbed to finish second with two first-place votes. Southern University was projected to finish third with three first-place votes, followed by Prairie View A&M (4th), and Florida A&M (5th) to round out the top-five preseason projections. 

Grambling State was tabbed to finish sixth with Jackson State right behind them in seventh place. Bethune Cookman takes the eighth place spot, followed by Alabama A&M (9th), Alabama State (10th), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (11th), and Mississippi Valley (12th) in the final spot.
