MONTGOMERY, Ala. | The Alabama State women's volleyball team picked up their fifth-straight win on Sunday, October 23, 2022 as they swept Mississippi Valley, 3-0 to advance to 8-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Alabama State stifled MVSU in set one after holding the Delta Devils to just five points in a 25-5 first-set win to jump ahead, 1-0.
• The Lady Hornets continued to dominate in the second frame as they extended their advantage to 2-0 behind a 25-16 second set win.
• ASU secure the sweep after trouncing MVSU, 25-6 in set three to escape with their fifth-straight victory.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 

• Alabama State registered 40 kills on 62 total attacks with an attack percentage of .532 in the win.
• Mississippi Valley recorded 10 kills on 57 total attacks.
• Maya Thompson and Amaya Finley led the Lady Hornets in kills with seven apiece on the day. 
• Emily Brooks led ASU's setters with 21 assists and three digs.
• Jada Rhodes led ASU in digs with eight total and four kills to add to her stat line.
