@BamaStateWBB Falls to UGA Despite 18 Points from Emmanuel

ATHENS, Ga. |  Ayana Emmanuel scored a team-high 18 points but the Alabama State University (0-2) women's basketball team fell short to the University of Georgia (2-0) 77-47 on Thursday night (Nov. 10) inside Stegeman Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Ayana Emmanuel and DonYeil Bolton scored Alabama State's first points but Georgia jumped out to a 15-4 lead just six minutes into the contest.
  • UGA ended the first quarter with a 23-5 advantage.
  • Ayana Emmanuel chipped in six second-quarter points to send ASU into the locker room down 39-23. 
  • The Lady Hornets tacked on 12 more points in the third quarter but the Bulldogs lead swelled to 23 points.
  • Ryin Tillis added four points in the fourth quarter but Alabama State fell to UGA 77-47.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Ayana Emmanuel scored a team-high 18 points, including a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
  • Ashley Gray led the Lady Hornets in assists with three helpers. 
  • Cordasia Harris and Ashley Gray tied for a team-high in rebounds with seven boards for Alabama State. 
  • ASU's reserves scored 19 of the Lady Hornets' 47 points on the night.
  • Ryin Tillis and Cordasia Harris contributed six points apiece.
  • Alabama State shot 19-of-54 from the field and 7-of-10 from the foul line.
  • Jayla Crawford and Talayah Hamilton led ASU in steals with two apiece.
