Hornets Volleyball Closes out the Regular Season with a 3-1 Win Over Alabama A&M

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. |  Jada Rhodes recorded a team-high 18 kills to help power the Alabama State women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over conference rival Alabama A&M on Friday (Nov. 11). ASU gets clinches their 12th straight victory and first place in the SWAC.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • Alabama A&M took the first set with a narrow 25-23 victory to lead Alabama State 1-0 in the set score.
  • The Lady Hornets responded with a 10-point victory in set two (25-15) to even the set score at one apiece. 
  • Alabama State continued to bounce back after dominating Alabama A&M 25-9 in the third frame to extend ASU's advantage to 2-1.
  • The Lady Hornets claimed a four-set victory over the Bulldogs after a 25-18 win in set four.

  • Jada Rhodes led Alabama State in kills with a game-high 18 and three digs to add to her stat line. 
  • Alabama State logged 51 total kills as a team on 108 total attacks (.315) in the win.
  • A'Nylah Cobb also recorded double-digit kills with 10 for the Lady Hornets on the night. 
  • Madison Beasley posted her seventh-straight match with 20+ kills as she registered 27 against Alabama A&M tonight.
  • On the defensive end, Brooke Adams led ASU in digs with 16 in the win.
  • Alabama State finishes the regular season on a 12-game win streak and boasts a 15-1 record in conference play.
