Rhodes' 23 Kills Powers Alabama State to 11th Straight Victory

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. |  Jada Rhodes registered a season-high 23 kills to power the Alabama State women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Florida A&M on Sunday afternoon inside the Al Lawson Center. Sunday's win marks ASU's 11th straight and brings them to first place in the SWAC women's volleyball standings.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • The Lady Hornets took a 1-0 set lead after claiming a 25-23 first-frame win over the Rattlers.
  • The score was tied at 17 apiece when Florida A&M put together an 8-0 run to win set two, 25-17, and even the set score at 1-1.
  • ASU responded with a narrow 30-28 third-set win to take a 2-1 set advantage. 
  • Alabama State downed Florida A&M 25-23 to claim their 11th straight victory and improve to 14-1 in conference play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Alabama State registered a season-high 65 total kills as a team on 171 total attacks (.275) in the win.
  • Florida A&M finished with 61 kills on just 183 attacks for an attack percentage of .213.
  • Jada Rhodes logged a season-high in kills with 23 and points (24.5) with 17 digs to add to her stat line.
  • A'Nylah Cobb also tallied double-digit kills with 16 on 41 total attacks (.121) for ASU followed by Mahogany Vinson with 10 kills. 
  • Madison Beasley registered her sixth-straight match with 20+ assists as she tallied a team-high 29 against Florida A&M tonight.
  • On the defensive end, Temperance Chatman led ASU in digs with a game-high 27 in the win.
  • Alabama State has now won 11 straight and 16 of their last 17 matches.
