FLORENCE, Ala. | Isaiah Range scored 27 points as the University of North Alabama held off a furious rally for a 71-63 win over the Alabama State University men's basketball team on Wednesday at Flowers Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Range scored five of the Hornets' nine points during a 9-0 to help ASU take a 20-15 lead with 9:45 to go in the first half.
- The Hornets led 22-18 lead before the Lions ripped off a 15-0 run to take a 33-22 lead with under 2:13 remaining in the first half.
- Range hit a 3-pointer at the first-half buzzer to end an 18-2 UNA run as the Hornets trailed 37-26 at intermission.
- The first half saw six lead changes and three ties.
- Amarr Knox's 3-point play just over two minutes into the second half trimmed the UNA lead to 38-32.
- A Range three kept Alabama State in striking range down 42-37 with over 15:00 to go in the second half.
