MONTGOMERY, Ala. |Â After a second-place finish at the SWAC East Roundup, Alabama State returns to action this weekend at the Mid-Winter Classic hosted by Arkansas State inside of the Jonesboro Bowling Center.
The tournament will consist of a three-day schedule and lane draws will be determined randomly in the coaches' meeting on Friday morning. The entire tournament will be scratch and will be based on match wins and losses.
Â
Teams will compete in five-game Baker matches on Friday, followed by five traditional game matches on Saturday. The teams will then be seeded based on total pins for the racket round on Sunday, which will be three Baker best of seven games.
Â
The Hornets are led by
Alahna DeGruy (Kenner, La.) and
Savanna Razor (Columbia, S.C) who picked up 2022 All-SWAC Honors earlier this week. Senior
Bailee Chapman (Gonzales, La.) is also in the top 15 in the conference in individual standings, finishing with 3,821 total pins.
