BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southwestern Athletic Conference recognized its 2022 All-SWAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field team and individual award winners on Tuesday. The all-conference honors were awarded to the top two finishers per event at the 2022 SWAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.  

Individually on the women's side Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Safiya John (26 points) was tabbed Most Outstanding Field Performer while Alabama State's Kyana Evans (Detroit, Mich.) was named Most Outstanding Track Performer for the season with 26 points.
 
The senior was also named All-SWAC in the 60-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter events after winning gold in both the 200 and 400-meter runs. Teammate Shamia Jones (Albany, Ga.) also earned conference honors in the 800-meter run, while the relay team for the Lady Hornets earned All-SWAC honors after their performance in the Indoor Championships.

Cedric Jones (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) received the All-SWAC nod on the men's side in the pole vault competition, as he captured a gold in the Heptathlon with 4,621 points.
