HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama State fell in their final regular season road trip to Alabama A&M, dropping an 80-65 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) contest at the T.M. Elmore Gymnasium on Saturday.
Trace Young (Owensboro, Ky.) and
Gerald Liddell (Cibolo, Texas) led Alabama State (7-21, 6-10 SWAC) with 13 points each in the loss, with each knocking down six shots each. Liddell recorded his third consecutive double double by grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds.
Kenny Strawbridge (Rockford, Ill.) added 11 points on a three at the buzzer for the final margin.
Jordan O'Neal (Mobile, Ala.) grabbed six rebounds for Alabama State who finished the night shooting 30.6 (23-of-75) percent from the floor. They also shot just 14.3 (4-of-28) percent from beyond the arc and 78.9 (15-of-19) percent from the free throw line.
Dailin Smith led Alabama A&M with 18 points.
