MACON, Ga. | Alabama State dropped a 6-1 decision to Mercer in non-conference on the road on Sunday, picking up a singles' victory in the process.
Doubles Play
- Alabama State dropped the three doubles' matches to fall 1-0 early to start the match, including dropping a 7-6 match at number with the team of Chris Andre (Berlin, Germany) and Juan Rodriguez (Concordia, Argentina).
- The Hornets dropped the other two matches prior to number one doubles being complete.
Singles Play
- Mercer claimed five of the six matches in singles' play with two going three sets and another to a tiebreaker in the second set.
- The lone win came at number six singles where Matis Amier (Epernay, France) claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Danny Flynn. The Hornets' Andre dropped his match at number one singles in a second set tiebreaker, while Samrakshyak Bajracharya (Katmandu, Nepal) dropped a three-set match at number three.
