HUNTSVILLE, Ala. | Alabama State heads north to take on in-state rival Alabama A&M in key Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) matches on Saturday in Huntsville. On the men's side, the Hornets can clinch the regular season conference championship with a win, while the women look to keep pace with Jackson State.
The matches are the last in the regular season for Alabama State with non-conference matches against UAB, North Alabama (women only), Western Carolina (women only), and Spring Hill remaining on the schedule.
Preview (Men's Tennis)
	- Alabama State (6-6, 4-0 SWAC) leads both Jackson State and Alabama A&M in the standings by one game and can clinch in their last conference match of the season. The Hornets have the tiebreaker over Jackson State but have not met Alabama A&M yet this season.
- The Hornets enter the match following a non-conference victory over Samford on Thursday, ending a seven-match losing streak to the Bulldogs and have a win over Southern Miss on their resume in non-conference action.
- The two teams last met in the conference tournament championship last season with Alabama A&M coming out on top, although Alabama State leads the series 25-3 since 2010.
- Matis Amier (Epernay, France) leads the Hornets in singles play with six wins, while David Jeanne Grandinot (Lisieux, France) has recorded five and Kristofer Johnson (Bromley, UK) four on the season.
Preview (Women's Tennis)
	- Alabama State (8-6, 7-1 SWAC) looks to lock up the second seed in the upcoming conference tournament, trailing Jackson State by one game and leading both Prairie View A&M and Alabama A&M by one game each.
- The Hornets lead the all-time series over Alabama A&M 16-8, including winning the last 16 matches. The last win by Alabama A&M in the series came in 2013.
- Francesca Duca (Ploiesti, Romania) and Timothee Legaud (Severac, France) lead the Hornets with five wins each in singles play, while Sahra Bouchaala (Aix-En-Provence, France), Lizaveta Demchenko (Mogilev, Belarus) and Urska Velec (Maribor, Slovenia) each have four.
