PHILADELPHIA, Penn. | The Alabama State men find themselves fifth after the second round of the PGA Works, while the women find themselves in eighth place heading to the final round.
The Hornets shot a second round 306 for a two-day total of 605, sitting nine shots behind both Florida A&M and Chicago State, with UAPB leading after a two-day of 592 followed by Howard at 595. First round leader Texas Southern slid to sixth after round two.
Meanwhile, the women have a two-day total of 699, trailing Texas A&M-Kingsville by 17 shots for seventh place. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi leads the tournament with a two-day total of 606, followed by Delaware State in second at 622.
Men's Tournament
- Thomas Caddell (Vance, Ala.) leads the Hornets through the first two rounds, finishing the round tied for seventh with a 3-over 75, while shooting a 3-over total (147) for the first two rounds.
- Gonzalo Moreno (Seville, Spain) is 18th (151) after a second round 76, while Bishop Stringer (Cecil, Ala.) improved his score by four shots to finish the day tied for 20th overall.
- Ty Roberts (Canyon, Texas) is tied for 36thh overall, while Max Adams (London, England) is tied for 41st.
Women's Tournament
- Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa) leads Alabama State after a second round 82 to place her in a tie for 31st overall, while Tia Kimbrough (Bellville, Ill.) is in 33rd after a second round 80.
- McKenzie LeDuff (Lake Charles, La.) led Alabama State through the opening round, shot a second round 88 and heads into the final round tied for 35th. Meanwhile Katie Robinson (American Canyon, Calif.) shot a second round 87 and is tied for 38th overall.
- Hallie Bridgers (Baltimore, Md.) rounds out the field for Alabama State in 46th place.
