Alabama State completes season at PGA Works on Wednesday

Men finish tied for third, women ninth in final tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. | The Alabama State golf programs finished their seasons at the 2022 PGA Works with the women finishing ninth and the men finishing tied for third in the tournament.

On the women's side, Alabama State finished the tournament with a final round 340 to finish with a total of 1030, just three shots behind Prairie View A&M for eighth and six shots behind Texas A&M-Kingsville for seventh. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi won the team title with a score of 913, 14 shots ahead of second place Delaware State.

Alabama State finished tied with UAPB after a final round 289 (10 shots better than their previous round in the tournament). The Hornets finished with a total of 894, finishing 11 shots behind second place Chicago State and 12 shots behind eventual champion Howard.

Men's Tournament
  • Thomas Caddell (Vance, Ala.) finished tied for sixth overall after his second even par round of the tournament, finishing at 3-over 219 Gonzalo Moreno (Seville, Spain) finished tied for 13th overall after a final round 2-over, finishing the tournament at 225.
  • Ty Roberts (Canyon, Texas) finished 20th overall with a final round 1-under 71, while Bishop Stringer (Cecil, Ala.) finished tied for 24th overall.
  • Max Adams (London, England) charged up the leaderboard improving by 13 spots to finish tied for 28th overall after a final round of even par.
Women's Tournament
  • Katie Robinson (American Canyon, Calif.) climbed the leaderboard for the Hornets, moving up five spots to finish tied for 33rd overall with a 40-over 256, two shots ahead of teammate Tia Kimbrough (Bellville, Ill.) in a tie for 35th overall.
  • McKenzie LeDuff (Lake Charles, La.) finished in a tie for 38th with a total of 261, two shots ahead of teammate Iman Adams (Cape Town, South Africa).
  • Hallie Bridgers (Baltimore, Md.) rounded out the field for Alabama State, moving up two spots to 44th overall.
