AUBURN, Ala. - Despite a nine-kill match from Kalysia Bates, the Alabama State University volleyball team fell 3-0 on the road to the Auburn Tigers on August 31, 2022 inside Neville Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Auburn took set one with a 25-17 victory, despite four kills from Kalysia Bates in the first set. 
• Kalysia Bates and Taniya Jones kicked off the second set with one kill apiece to knot the score at 2-2, but Auburn would overcome and claim a 25-16 win to extend their lead to 2-0 .
• Alabama State jumped out to an 8-5 lead in the third set before Auburn regained momentum to win 25-18 and secure the sweep.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Kalysia Bates led the Lady Hornets in kills with nine on 16 total attacks for a 44-percent attack percentage. 
• Auburn's Rebekah Rath recorded a game-high 14 kills with a 48-percent attack percentage.
• Temperance Chatman led the way on the defensive end for the Lady Hornets with a team-high 10 digs. 
• Sarah Morton tallied 10 digs for Auburn.
• Madison Beasley led the Lady Hornets in assists for the fourth-straight match with 14 tonight against Auburn. 
• Jada Rhodes (7) and Kaylah Jackson (8) each registered four-plus kills in three straight matches.
