FORT COLLINS, Colo. - In the first of three matches at the Colorado State Invitational, the Alabama State University (ASU) women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (FGCU) on September 2, 2022 inside Moby Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- FGCU started the first set on a 5-0 run to help propel the Eagles to a 25-12 first set victory.
- Alabama State knotted the score at six even at the beginning of the second set but FGCU overcame to secure the 25-19 second set win to extend the advantage to 2-0 .
- FGCU completed the sweep with a 25-13 win in the third set.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kaylah Jackson led the Lady Hornets in kills with seven on 21 total attacks with five digs to add to her stat line.
- Madison Beasley registered a team-high 12 assists and two digs.
- Temperance Chatman led the ASU in digs with seven for the match
- Skylar English tallied a game-high 16 kills and four service aces while hitting .519 for FGCU.
- Chelsey Lockey recorded 33 assists in the match for the Eagles.
- Dana Axner led the Eagles in digs with seven.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Kaylah Jackson recorded two kills in the first set but the Razorbacks claimed the 25-13 victory to go up 1-0 over ASU.
- Arkansas jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the second set before Jada Rhodes got on the board for ASU.
- Arkansas would hang on to win the second set 25-10, despite two kills apiece from Kalysia Bates and Kaylah Jackson.
- The Razorbacks secured the sweep in straight sets behind Maggie Cartwright's five kills in the third set.
